Forget the top 10; Fred is going for the win! The man carded an impressive 65 (-7) in the third round of the Johnnie Walker Classic and is only four shots back with one more round to go.
On saturday, Couples came out of the gates really strong, recording a birdie and an eagle on the first three holes. The man then kept on going, carding consecutives birdies at the 8th, 9th and 10th holes. Couples then finished his round by hitting to perfect shots on the 18th hole, that led to a succesful eagle putt.
Statiscally speaking, this was probably Fred’s best round of 2006. The man found 12/14 faiways, hit 17 greens in regulation and had no 3-putt greens. He also played the four par-5’s at -5 for the day, which is an impressive accomplishment.
On sunday, Fred will have his chance to run away with the title. Considering the fact that the winning score should be around -20, Couples needs another 65 (-7). So far this week, Fred’s score improved everyday, which gives fans a lot of hope going into the final round.
