Fred Couples is part of the field for the Merrill Lynch Shootout, hosted by Greg Norman, to be played at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida December 5-9.
Teams are expected to be announced soon.

It will be good to see "The Man" swinging the clubs again.
I just hope the old sticks are not covered with rust.
The king of the silly season is back. I’d like to see him play as much towards the end of the year and come out strong in 08′.
I was actually hoping that he’s wait for some silly season events than to play one of the last few PGA events this year. Gives him the chance to knock off the rust with no pressure. A season ending PGA event with a missed cut was not what he needed in his first event back…
So, we have the Skins Game, the Merrill Lynch Shootout, and the Target World Challenge to look forward to between now and Christmas. Then, we can discuss which events he’ll play after Hawaii leading up to Riviera and then the Masters.
Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. Let’s hope he can stay healthy…
