Fred Couples made a move up the leaderboard in the second round of the Shell Houston Open. He started his round on fire – birdieing three of the first four holes.
Fred would give one shot back at the difficult fifth as a wayward drive well to the right of the hole led to a bogey.
Fred would then go on to par six holes before coming to the short par four 12th hole. Fred’s drive was able to reach the green leaving around 37 feet for eagle. He would go on to make the putt long putt moving him to 4-under for the day. Fred birdied the par five 13th and stood pat 5-under for the day and 4-under for the tournament – near the top 10. However, bogeys at the 16th and 18th would drop him back to where he currently sits – 2-under for the tournament and 10 shots behind leader Johnson Wagner.
