Fred Couples missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer invitational. A second round 71, while much better than the opening round of 80, was of little consequence. At 11-over, he was well back of the cut line. He now goes to Houston to play in the Shell Houston Open.

Fred Couples was not able to mount a moving day charge at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Instead of moving up the leaderboard, Fred moved backwards.
