Playing in Cologne, Germany, the tournament is the Linde German Masters and the defending champion is Colin Montgomerie. Fred will tee off on Thursday and Friday with Carlos Franco and Bernhard Langer.

Fred opened with a first round 68, one of the best rounds of the day. The 4-under total has him in a tie for fifth place and two shots out of the lead. He played quite well, capturing five birdies, twelve pars and one bogey. He hit all 18 greens, had only 29 putts and hit 50 percent of the fairways.
